American model Emily Ratajkowski has alleged she was sexually assaulted by singer Robin Thicke on the set of the music video for Blurred Lines.

The 30-year-old model has accused Thicke of groping her bare breasts without her consent during the filming of the 2013 video.

The allegations, which were first reported in the Sunday Times newspaper, feature in her book My Body, which is due to be published next month.

Ratajkowski, who appeared in the video alongside two other models, Thicke, Pharrell Williams and TI, said she initially enjoyed filming the video, which was shot using an all-female team.

Quotes from the book were published in the Sunday Times.

She writes: "Suddenly, out of nowhere, I felt the coolness and foreignness of a stranger's hands cupping my bare breasts from behind. I instinctively moved away, looking back at Robin Thicke.

"He smiled a goofy grin and stumbled backward, his eyes concealed behind his sunglasses. My head turned to the darkness beyond the set. [The director, Diane Martel’s] voice cracked as she yelled out to me, "Are you okay?"

"I pushed my chin forward and shrugged, avoiding eye contact, feeling the heat of humiliation pump through my body. I didn't react - not really, not like I should have."

Diane Martel, told the publication that she recalled the alleged incident.

She was quoted as saying: "I remember the moment that he grabbed her breasts. He was standing behind her as they were both in profile."

Martel said Thicke later apologised, adding: "Robin sheepishly apologised. As if he knew it was wrong without understanding how it might have felt for Emily."

Thicke has not yet responded to the claim.
