Oscar nominee Michael Fassbender has paid a surprise visit to his old school in Killarney to teach an impromptu acting class to transition year students.
The X Men and 12 Years A Slave star dropped into St Brendan's in Killarney on Tuesday and the school has tweeted their thanks to their famous old boy.

"Transition year students today received a drama workshop from past pupil and Oscar nominee Michael Fassbender. Students greatly enjoyed the workshop." the school said.
Fassbender, 44, last visited his alma mater in 2019 when he was back in Killarney for the car racing event, Rally of The Lakes.
"I always find it very inspiring to see young people's outlook on life and their energy," he said at the time. "It was a privilege for me to do that. It was an honour to go back and have a chat with them."
The actor, who lives in Portugal with his wife Alicia Vikander, 32, was born in Germany but his family moved to the village of Fossa from Heidelberg in 1979 and he began acting as a student at St Brendan's College.
The Hollywood star was once an altar boy at the nearby Prince of Peace Church in Fossa, and he attended the local national school before going on to St Brendan's.
As well as leading the Killarney's annual St Patrick's Parade, the actor has also been honoured at several civic receptions and received the town's highest accolade: The Order of Innisfallen in 2016.
Speaking to RTÉ about the special accolade, Fassbender said at the time, "This is my home. This is where I grew up. It's a very magical place. This is the place that formed my personality."
The actor's most recent visit follows news that his family have applied for planning permission to turn their former restaurant, West End House, in Killarney into an acting school.
Josef Fassbender, a German chef, and his Antrim-born wife Adele ran the building as a restaurant/guest house for many years, with actor son Michael and his sister, Catherine, now a neuropsychologist, helping out.
Vikander recently confirmed the arrival of the couple's first child earlier this year.
