The much anticipated second season of Bridgerton is due to hit our screens in March 2022, and Netflix has offered a glimpse of the new series, releasing three first-look images.

Season two of Bridgerton follows Viscount Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) in his quest for love, and images show him in conversation with Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley).

The Sharma family also includes Edwina Sharma (Charithra Chandran) and Lady Mary Sharma (Shelley Conn) who join the cast in season 2, pictured with Lady Danbury (Adjoa Andoh).

Kate Sharma: Kate is equal parts headstrong and whip-smart. Her sharp wit and independent nature make her a singular force on the 1814 marriage mart, where she hopes to secure a love match for her younger sister, Edwina.

Edwina Sharma: Edwina has been taught by her older sister to be the perfect debutante. She's kind-natured and endlessly endearing. But while she may be young and naive, she also knows what she wants: a true love match.

Mary Sharma: Mary Sharma was the daughter of an Earl, but gave up her title to run away with her true love – a merchant. The scandal that quickly ensued has made Mary somewhat of an outsider upon her return to London society for the debut of her daughters.

Series three and four of Bridgerton have previously been commissioned by Netflix, as well as a prequel series telling the "origin story" of Queen Charlotte, who is played by Golda Rosheuvel.

Netflix previously said the show had become its biggest ever original series after it was viewed by a record 82 million households in 28 days.
