Gabriel Byrne has joined the cast of the biopic Lamborghini, playing sports car icon Ferruccio Lamborghini's great rival, Ferrari founder Enzo Ferrari.
US entertainment publication Deadline, which first reported Byrne's casting, says the film stars Captain America's Frank Grillo in the lead role of Ferruccio Lamborghini.
The cast also includes Oscar winner Mira Sorvino as Annita, Lamborghini's second wife, in a story that charts his rise from humble beginnings to his status as one of Italy's richest men.
Filming is under way on Lamborghini in Rome and Emilia Romagna. The film is written and directed by Bobby Moresco, an Oscar winner for his work on the screenplay for Crash.
The film is based on the book Ferruccio Lamborghini: La Storia Ufficiale (The Official Story), written by Lamborghini's son Tonino.
