Spice Girls: How Girl Power Changed Britain, 9.00pm, Channel 4

This new two-part series tells the story of the hugely successful British girl group, made to mark 25 years since the release of their debut album Spice.

Using rarely-seen archive footage and interviews, the series charts the evolution of the Spice Girls over the past quarter of a century and explores the impact of girl power around the world.

The first episode looks at the group's formation in 1994, against the backdrop of ladette culture, the group's rise to stardom, and what it meant for contemporary feminism.

By 1997, the band reach new heights as the best-selling girl group of all time, with an extraordinary presence internationally.

Another chance to see Alan Yentob presents a profile of comedian Jo Brand (below), going behind the scenes as she presents TV and radio shows, and accompanies her on a tour promoting her latest book Born Lippy: How to Do Female.

As well as the journeys with Jo, there are contributions from the likes of Peter Capaldi, Alan Davies, Victoria Coren Mitchell, Mark Thomas, Mary Beard, Morwenna Banks and Ian Hislop.

Followed at 10pm by Born Lippy: Mark Lawson talks to Jo Brand, where she talks about her life and career in the entertainment industry, having turned her back on her previous job as a psychiatric nurse.
