Country music star Garth Brooks is reported to be planning a series of gigs in Croke Park in 2022, seven years after he was forced to cancel his shows at the venue in 2014.

It has been reported that negotiations are being finalised for the singer to appear at the Dublin venue in September 2022. Croke Park and Aiken Promotions have not commented on the story.

The singer has rescheduled some concerts in the US due to Covid-19. However neither promoters nor the stadium have commented on the reports that he will include Ireland in his tour next year.

In 2001 Brooks temporarily retired from the public eye but announced his 2014 comeback with two concerts in Croke Park that July in what would have been his first Irish gigs since 1997.

However, Dublin City Council announced it was only granting a license for three of the planned gigs. The country star insisted upon playing five shows or none at all.
