Joanne McNally told Ryan Tubridy about her (mis)adventures on the celebrity dating app Raya on Friday night's Late Late Show on RTÉ One.
"I love talking about dating... because I'm single and unfertilised so it's basically one of my favourite things to do!" the comedian enthused. "They're like, 'What are your hobbies?'; 'Dating - apps and stuff'. Me and the girls love chatting about it - and I'm on all of them."
"Raya is the celebrity one, which I wangled my way onto," she recounted. "I broke in, basically. I shouldn't have been on there at all. Like, there's proper celebrities on it, and then there's people like me. I'm there going, 'How did you get on?', and he's going, 'How did you get on?'.
"I had to leave - I can't compete with these people. I'm going to go back to Tinder with my 2006 Electric Picnic photos."
"Did you leave or were you...?" asked the host.
"I did leave but not through choice," McNally explained.
"Because there's all these celebrities on Raya, and because I was just a pleb on Raya - completely excited to see these celebrities - I was screen-grabbing the photos of the celebrities and sending them to the girls. Obviously. What else are you doing to do on there?! It's not as if they're going to date me! I might as well just screen-grab their photos and get a bit of craic out of it.
"Anyway, I screen-grabbed Lewis Hamilton and then this alarm starts coming up, basically going, 'You've just identified yourself as a pleb because you're screen-grabbing the celebrities. You don't belong here - get out!'
"They obviously have a system set up, you know? There's some software where they can tell that you've screen-grabbed. But I was like, 'It's not AA! Who cares if he's on it?!' Do you know what I mean? It's not like he's in witness protection!
"Anyway, I'm not on Raya anymore. But it wasn't for me, it wasn't for me!"
