Kanye West claims second Irish number one album with Donda

Kanye West has scored his second number 1 one album on the Irish chart with his new release Donda.

The rapper's tenth studio album, which is named after his late mother, claimed the most downloads and streams of the week. It joined 2018's Ye as West's Irish album chart toppers.

Last week's number one, Sour by Olivia Rodrigo, drops a place to two but remains the most physically-purchased album of the week.

Doja Cat's Planet Her, Dermot Kennedy's Without Fear and Billie Eilish's Happier Than Ever round off the top five.

Aside from Kanye West, the next highest new entry belongs to American singer Halsey with her fourth studio album If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power, which debuts at number six.

Over on the Irish singles chart, Ed Sheeran's Bad Habits is the first song in over three years to spend ten weeks at number one.

Not since Drake's God’s Plan in February to April 2018 has a song spent as many weeks at the top of the chart. Sheeran's next single Shivers is released next Friday.

The Kid Laroi & Justin Bieber's Stay retains the second position, while Becky Hill & David Guetta's Remember stays in third.

Joel Corry & Jax Jones advance three places to number four with Out Out ft. Charli XCX & Saweetie, with Lil Nas X & Jack Harlow retaining the fifth spot with Industry Baby.

Kanye West claims the three highest new entries of the week with Hurricane at number seven, Jail at number nine and Off The Grid at number eleven.

On the Irish Homegrown chart, Dermot Kennedy stays at number one for a fifth week with Better Days, Rain Radio & DJ Craig Gorman retain the second spot with Talk About, and Picture this keep the third position with Addict of Magic.

Shane Codd and Charlotte Haining gain a position to fourth place with Always on my Mind, while Bissett rounds off the top five with Every Single Time.

The Script claim the highest new entry on this week's homegrown chart with new single I Want It All which debuts at number six. The track is taken from their greatest hits album Tales From The Script, due for release on October 1.

Aslan frontman Christy Dignam debuts at number thirteen with High, the lead single from his upcoming debut solo album The Man Who Stayed Alive, out October 15.
