Vogue Williams has said the new talent show she will be presenting will have "no nasty vibes" and be a "positive show".

Vogue will present Virgin Media's new talent competition The Big Deal and she said viewers won’t be tuning in and hearing the judges making mean comments towards the contestants.

"The show is a positive show, we don’t want to knock them down, it is the kind of new age we’re living in, you don’t have to be horrible or nasty to get your point across," she said.

"It’s a fun family show and it’s not about making people feel crap."

Vogue added that "the level of nastiness that has been spewed previously" on other talent shows "just wasn’t needed in the first place" as she is certain it "doesn’t feel like anything is missing" with The Big Deal.

"I think it's good to see something like this on TV because it’s not telling people they’re rubbish, there’s no need for it," Vogue said.

The 35-year-old presenter and DJ said the level of talent she has seen through the show has made her proud.

"I’m so proud of the talent, because when you think of talent shows sometimes you think of the joke acts, but with this its 24 extremely talented people from Ireland and it’s amazing to think such a small country has such a huge amount of talent," she said.

Boy George, Deirdre O'Kane, Aston Merrygold, Jedward and Lyra, make up the judging panel for this brand new show which launches in the autumn.

The Big Deal will showcase variety acts, from musicians and magicians through comedians and dancers to acrobats and the utterly undefinable. The only thing the performers have in common is an ability to make jaws drop, hearts race and eyes roll — and occasionally tear up.

After each act, the performers are offered a deal: they can either accept a cash buyout and leave the competition leave with a sum of money — or they can reject the offer and hope they've impressed the judges enough to progress through to the final and the chance to win a life-changing prize pot.
