This Morning presenter Holly Willoughby has shut down media speculation that she and Piers Morgan could make a "dream team" as co-hosts.

Writing in his column for the Sunday Mail, 56-year-old Morgan said he had seen a magazine with a front cover which posed the question, "Holly & Piers - can they save GMB?"

He revealed that he then had sent a text to Willoughby (40) and wrote, "I want the biggest dressing room."

Piers Morgan: "I can't imagine anything more boring than not being ruled by my emotions."

However, she fired back, "You can have it. I won't be there."

Morgan added, "I wouldn't hold your breath for this particular TV dream team."

Morgan and Willoughby have traded barbed quips for years. In the past he has mocked her for her squeaky-clean appearance on This Morning and for scooping more awards than him.

Earlier this year, Willoughby and her This Morning co-star Phillip Schofield made a jokey comment during Dancing On Ice which rankled with Morgan.

However, after he stormed off the set of GMB last March, Willoughby was one of the first to contact him.

She suggested that he book himself on a meditation course, which would help with "managing difficult situations, "nailing interviews" and "making hangovers less horrible."

Morgan dismissed the offer, saying "I’d even get my own personal meditation sound to repeat softly in my head! This would apparently all ensure I am 'no longer ruled by my emotions’.

"Problem is that I can’t imagine anything more boring than not being ruled by my emotions."
