Jamie Lee Curtis reveals her daughter Ruby is transgender

Actress Jamie Lee Curtis has revealed her daughter is transgender.

The Freaky Friday star told AARP Magazine that she and husband Christopher Guest "have watched in wonder and pride as our son became our daughter Ruby."

Ruby and her fiance "will get married next year at a wedding that I will officiate," Curtis said.

The actress and Guest also share daughter Annie, who works as a dance instructor.

When asked by the magazine if she has grandchildren, Curtis replied: "Not yet, but I do hope to."

Also in the interview, which was conducted with Ruby's permission, Curtis explained that she has given up the "old idea" that gender is fixed and is instead considering that life is in "constant metamorphosis".

The actress has previously shown support for trans people including in in 2017 when she shared the Huffington Post article on Twitter: 'Dear Trans Kids. The letter we all wish we had written. (from a trans teacher).'

Last year, she also signed on to direct and star in a TV movie about GLAAD Media Institute alum Sara Cunningham. Cunningham is the founder of Free Mom Hugs, which celebrates the LGBTQIA+ community.
