The Car Share and Phoenix Nights favourite will do his first shows in more than three years when he appears at the Manchester O2 Apollo on 7 August to help Laura Nuttall from Barrowford, Lancashire.
Kay shared the news in a tweet, writing: "Peter Kay will be performing two very special live Q&A's in aid of Laura Nuttall at Manchester O2 Apollo on 7th Aug 21. Tickets go on sale on this Friday (30th July) at 9am."

Writing on Facebook, Laura Nuttall's family said: "We are so incredibly grateful to Peter for this x."
Kay cancelled all his work commitments due to "unforeseen family circumstances" in December 2017.
In a statement at the time, he said: "...I deeply regret that I am having to cancel all of my upcoming work projects. This unfortunately includes my upcoming stand-up tour, Dance for Life shows and any outstanding live work commitments.
"My sincerest apologies. This decision has not been taken lightly and I'm sure you'll understand my family must always come first.
"I've always endeavoured to protect my family's privacy from the media. I hope that the media and the public will continue to respect our privacy at this time.
"Once again, I'm very sorry."
