Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson has revealed that actress Emily Blunt 'ghosted' him after he sent her a video message.
The Hollywood stars can soon be seen on screen together in the forthcoming Disney blockbuster, Jungle Cruise, but it wasn't always plain sailing between the cast mates.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter Johnson revealed that Blunt didn't even want to read the script when she was first approached about joining the seafaring adventure.
In a bid to convince the British actress to come on board, director Jaume Collet-Serra decided to pay a visit to Blunt at her home in Brooklyn, and Johnson gave him a video message for her.
"I must have shot it about five or six times because I had not communicated with Emily yet," Johnson said.
"I had not even met her. And I wanted to let her know via this video just how important she was to this movie and how I only wanted her in this movie. And it was great. And I … I actually never heard again from Emily. Didn't respond at all. Just ghosted me."
Blunt was won over when Collet-Serra told her the film would be reminiscent of the Indiana Jones films, plus Johnson's video and a big pay cheque sweetened the deal.
Jungle Cruise will be released in Irish cinemas on July 30
