Derry Girls stars Saoirse-Monica Jackson and Jamie-Lee O'Donnell are set to appear on tonight’s episode of Celebrity Gogglebox on Channel 4 at 9:00pm.
The pair will turn armchair tv critics on the hit show for the next two weeks as part of a new season line-up that also sees the return of Jools Holland and Vic Reeves.
Gogglebox regulars Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford and Denise Van Outen and her partner Eddie Boxshall will also be taking part in a spot of channel surfing.
Jackson, who plays teenage schoolgirl Erin Quinn on Derry Girls, said she was delighted to be taking part on the show with her co-star and friend, O’Donnell, who plays Michelle Mallon.
"Gogglebox is one of my absolute favourites so to be on there with my pal and fellow Derry Girl Jamie-Lee is a bit of a thrill," Jackson said. "We’ve had in-depth snack discussions already so are raring to go."
After being postponed by the pandemic, filming for series three of Derry Girls is due to start later this year.
Speaking to The Metro newspaper earlier this year, Jackson said: "We've been pushed [filming] now a couple of times, and I think we are going to push again.
"It’s really important to us that we keep the authenticity of the show and that we don’t deliver any show that’s in any way a limited version. It’s important for us to shoot it at home."
Meanwhile, Jackson has secured a role in DC's upcoming film about superhero The Flash and O'Donnell is set to star with Colm Meaney in new horror movie Unwelcome.
