Jennifer Aniston has cleared up speculation about her relationship with her Friends co-star David Schwimmer following rumours that the pair were romantically involved during the making of the show.

In the recent special episode, Schwimmer, who played Ross on the sitcom, admitted he had a "major crush" on Aniston - and she revealed that the attraction was mutual.

"At some points we were both crushing hard on each other, but it was like two ships passing because one of us was always in a relationship," Schwimmer said on the reunion special. "So, we never crossed that boundary, we both respected that."

However, speaking on The Howard Stern Show, Aniston said that nothing happened between the two beyond their character's relationship on screen.

"He's lovely, David was great," she said. "We were in relationships, it was always never the right time. And it wouldn't have worked.

"The beauty of that was that whatever feelings we had we just literally channelled everything into Ross and Rachel, and I think that's maybe why it resonated the way it did.

"But no, we never, on my life, and Courteney [Cox] and Lisa [Kudrow] would know if it did because they would've heard about it. They can vouch for me."

Also in the new interview, Aniston confirmed that she is still "buddies" with her ex-boyfriend, Brad Pitt.
