What's on? 10 top TV and streaming tips for Sunday

Time
Time

Today's top watches include the concluding episode of Jimmy McGovern's Time, Jim Sheridan's documentary about Sophie Toscan du Plantier, Sam Neil in Rams, Euro 2020 and some mighty movies . . .

Pick of the Day

Time, 9.00pm, BBC One

It’s the third and final episode of Jimmy McGovern's impressive prison drama, starring Sean Bean, Stephen Graham and Siobhan Finneran.

Mark receives word that his father has passed away, and he is given the chance to leave prison for a day to attend the funeral.

At the last moment, contraband belonging to Daniel is discovered in their cell, and his temporary release is cancelled.

He later gets given the chance to take part in a crime and punishment conference, an opportunity Jackson seeks to exploit.

Eric is forced to take greater risks to protect his family - but finally has to face the consequences of his actions.

Don’t Miss

Murder at the Cottage, 9.00pm, Sky Crime

Investigative documentary by Jim Sheridan, which is a recommendation in itself.

In the opening episode, a town in West Cork is rocked when Sophie Toscan du Plantier is murdered and journalist Ian Bailey is arrested at the scene.

It's followed at 10pm by episode two, where Jim Sheridan talks to a key witness who called the Garda back in 1996 with information about Sophie Toscan du Plantier's murder.

UEFA Euro 2020, 4.30pm, RTÉ2

The final round of games begin, with both games in each group kicking-off at the same time.

Today it's Italy v Wales and Switzerland v Turkey from Group A, with the former game on RTÉ2 while the latter will be available on the RTÉ Player.

Italy have already qualified, while it would it take a bizarre set of results to deny Wales a place in the last 16. Should Wales win here, they’ll top the group instead of the Italians.

A draw would probably satisfy both sides.

Should Switzerland beat Turkey, that might be enough for them to make the last 16.

Maps: Power, Plunder and Possession, 8.00pm, BBC Four

Well worth a look, this, and certainly not as nerdy as you might think.

This includes the latest technology being used to improve the cartographer's art and revolutionise mankind's knowledge of the world.

On a visit to the oldest known map, etched into a hillside 3,000 years ago, he considers how different cultures have approached map-making over millennia, often as a tool for expansionism and political control.
