Tonight's viewing choices include Luca - a new animated movie from Pixar, The Best of The Late Late Show, Rose Byrne in dark comedy Physical, and the final Later . . . With Jools Holland

Pick of the Day

Luca, Disney+

This is a delightful coming-of-age animation movie from the Pixar people, set in a Ligurian idyll in the 1950s.

It's a heartwarming story about friendship, stepping out of your comfort zone and two teenage sea monsters who experience a life-changing summer.

The eponymous Luca is a young sea monster who, he discovers, turns into a human when on dry land. Along with his new sea monster friend, Alberto, he discovers the joys of gelato, pasta and scooters as they make pals with the local kids.

Having fun and enjoying life, the last thing they need is for someone to discover their secret . . .

As well as being great fun for kids, Luca will have adults yearning for this version of Italy, which is like an animated Elena Ferrante fish-out-of-water tale.

UEFA Euro 2020, 7.30pm, RTÉ2

I'll be watching Waterford v Shamrock Rovers on LOI TV, but there's no denying that the Euros will be the focus of most people looking for a football fix tonight.

Darragh Maloney presents coverage of the Group D game between England and Scotland, which comes from Wembley Stadium in London.

England defeated Croatia 1-0 in their opening fixture thanks to a second-half goal from Raheem Sterling, while the Scots fell to a 2-0 defeat against the Czech Republic.

Despite their rivalry, anything but an England win would be a major surprise.
