The Fall star Aisling Franciosi is to play the lead role in a psychological horror called Stopmotion.
US entertainment industry publication Deadline, which first reported the Irish-Italian actress' casting, says she will play Ella Blake, "a stop-motion animator struggling to control her demons after the loss of her overbearing mother, who embarks upon the creation of a film that becomes the battleground for her sanity".
"As Ella's mind starts to fracture, the characters in her project take on a life of their own," Deadline adds.
Stopmotion marks the feature directorial debut of short film director and animator Robert Morgan, who also co-wrote the script.
Franciosi was most recently seen in the BBC's Black Narcissus, and on the big screen in The Nightingale.
