Former Emmerdale stars Chelsea Halfpenny and James Baxter are engaged.
Halfpenny played Amy Wyatt on the ITV soap from 2010 to 2013, while Baxter played the character Jake Doland from 2007 to 2009.
The actress announced that they had become engaged on Instagram, posting a picture of them smiling at the camera while she holds a champagne glass.
She wrote: "He liked it so he went and put a friggin ring on it!!!!!!!! Obv changed his name to 'FIANCÈ' immediately on my phone. Also congrats to my 14-year-old self on managing to get the boy with the spikey hair that she fancied so much."
Emmerdale stars were quick to give congratulations, with Charley Webb commenting: "Basically the best news of life".
Isabel Hodgins wrote: "Oh Chels!!!!!! Amazing news!!! Love you both!!", while Adam Thomas commented simply: "Wahooooo."
As well as her stint in Emmerdale, Halfpenny is also known for playing Alice Munroe in Casualty between 2015 and 2019.
Baxter has been playing the role of Leroy in Still Open All Hours since the sitcom revival began in 2013.
