Actor Paul Mescal and US singer Phoebe Bridgers have continued to spark romance rumours after they were spotting taking a "romantic stroll" in London last weekend, according to reports.

The Normal People star was first linked to Bridgers, who released her breakthrough album Punisher last year, in summer 2020 when he starred in one of her videos and they were later seen spending time together in Cork.

The Sun's Bizarre column has quoted an eyewitness who saw the pair in Shoreditch in London and said, "Paul and Phoebe were out in Shoreditch and looked so sweet. They were chatting, laughing and quite tactile. They seemed to really savour their time together."

LA-based Bridgers (26) was full of praise for Mescal (25) in an interview with Style magazine last April, saying: "Oh, he's the sweetest - he’s the best."

Mescal, who is from Maynooth, starred in the video for Bridger’s track Savior Complex, which was directed by Fleabag creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

Speaking to GQ magazine last November, the actor finally confirmed he had a girlfriend but refused to name her. However, he did describe her as a "lifesaver".

Rumours of a romance between the actor and the musician first began last July when they were spotted together at the Lemon Leaf Café in Kinsale.

The café later confirmed the news in an Instagram post, with owner Tracey Keoghan telling local website CorkBeo that they were "absolutely delightful" customers.

The rumoured couple were then spotted at the exclusive Soho Farmhouse in England, and onlookers told the Mail On Sunday that they were "all over each other".

The pair first came into contact with each other when Bridgers called Mescal "cute" in an interview with NME in May of 2020.

She previously said she was watching Normal People and started following "that cute boy" Paul Mescal on Instagram.

He followed her back, and she said: "I got a little pitter-patter in my heart when I saw."

Just one week later, both stars did a 25-minute Instagram Live together, as Phoebe interviewed Paul for a fashion magazine.
