School of Rock star Kevin Clark, who played Freddie the drummer in the hit movie, has died in a road accident at the age of 32.
Police have confirmed that Clark was riding his bicycle in Chicago on Wednesday when he was hit by a car.
Jack Black, who starred with Clark in School of Rock, took to social media to pay tribute, telling his followers that he was "heartbroken".
Fellow co-star Miranda Cosgrove said she was "stunned and saddened" by the news and that "the world has lost a beautiful soul".
Clark was 12-years-old when he starred in the movie as rebellious drummer Freddy Jones, it was his only film role. He played in various different bands following his brief stint with acting.
In a statement, Chicago Police said: "The bicyclist has been identified as a 32-year-old male. He was pronounced [dead] at Illinois Masonic at 2:04 am.
"The person at fault has not been determined at this time and the crash is under investigation by Area Five Detectives."
Other School of Rock cast members also played tribute.
"I will never forget your hugs and your laugh and the sheer joy on your face when we'd run into each other in Chicago," wrote Rivkah Reyes who played bassist Katie.
Brian Falduto, who played costume designer Billy, wrote: "So, so much love to you, you wickedly talented & wonderfully kind man."
