Pick of the Day

Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga, 9.35pm, RTÉ One

Here’s an entertaining comedy, starring Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams, for the hyped-up Eurovision week that’s in it.

You’ve probably seen it elsewhere – I know I have – but it’s a good laugh if very much a predictable, one-trick pony.

Aspiring Icelandic musicians Lars and Sigrit are given the opportunity to represent their country at the world's biggest song competition, and they finally have a chance to prove that any dream worth having is one worth fighting for.

Ultimately, it’s all about the journey.

Don’t Miss

Johnny Vegas: Carry on Glamping, 10.00pm, Channel 4

The launch of the site is just days away, but Johnny's last-minute design changes for his Maltese bus, including hand painting more than 200 tiles for the shower, are driving craftsman Pauleo to despair.

Meanwhile, Bev (above, with Johnny) is putting the finishing touches to the site up in Yorkshire before Johnny arrives to inspect the first of the vehicles, including a converted American school bus and a beautifully restored Morris Minor Caravanette.

Bloods, 10.00pm, Sky One & NOW TV

Sky’s latest and pretty passable comedy, starring Jane Horrocks and Samson Kayo, continues.

When Maleek bumps into old flame Nicole, a single mother, Wendy sees the chance to get them together - by looking after her son.

In an effort to impress the kid, Maleek takes him on a ride-a-long that spirals out of control.

Meanwhile, Jo and Lawrence enjoy quality time with a dead body, and Kareshma tries to break up Darrell and Darryl to get a new partner.

Open House, 9.20pm, RTÉ2

This week's short goes about exploring the history of Dublin's Parnell Square, including the new City Library, and six Georgian buildings from number 23 to number 28 Parnell Square, in a state of disrepair.

Location, Location, Location, 8.00pm, Channel 4

This long-running property show must seem like a slice of pure fantasy for anyone under 40. At least you can afford to look at the furniture.

Phil Spencer (below) catches up with two sets of house hunters whose searches were all about family.

Retired couple Tom and Sue are living in their motorhome having sold their beloved cottage in Tom's native Yorkshire.

The plan is to move 150 miles south to be near Sue's grandson - and they long for an open-plan home with a huge garden.

Meanwhile, doting father Charlie, who is recently divorced, and his two children would like a new family home in Kent to start a new chapter in their lives.

New or Returning Shows

A Very Royal Baby: From Cradle to Crown, 9.00pm, Channel 4

As fans worldwide await the imminent arrival of Harry Windsor and Meghan Markle's (above) second child, this documentary celebrates what it really means to be born royal. The ultimate in entitlement.

A combination of archive footage and interviews provides an insight into every stage of the royal baby story, looking at the pressures faced by royal mothers-to-be and how attitudes have changed over the past 100 years.

How does press intrusion compares with the birth of Meghan's babies? Why have the royals moved from home to private hospitals? And what really happened at Meghan's baby shower?

The Great Diamond Heist, 9.00pm, Virgin Media One

I've always fantasized about doing something like this. A lazy weekend in Rome is about my daydreaming limit these days.

Gordon Bowers presents a look back at the audacious robbery (above) of a safe depository in London's Hatton Garden over the Easter weekend of 2015, which saw the burglars arrested for taking jewellery worth millions of pounds.

The documentary explores whether it was coincidence or not that emergency services were disrupted when electrical cables under nearby Kingsway caught on fire, and speculates whether it was the same gang that made a similar raid at the same place in 2004, as well as looking at the history of heists around the world.

Márú Inár Measc, 9.30pm, TG4

This is a new and very promising four-part true crime docuseries aiming to shine a light on how killers thought they'd gotten away with their crime and managed to hide in plain sight.

How does a community get on with their lives, knowing that there might be a killer in their midst? On Saturday 11 September 1987, Kilkenny woke up to the news that Ann Nancy Smyth had not survived a fire that destroyed her small cottage on Wolfe Tone Street.

Although it took the community 30 long years to bring down the man who callously murdered Ann Nancy Smyth, they never gave up on fighting justice for her.
