Angelina Jolie has praised her Eternals director Chloe Zhao for "bringing a new voice through her films" and said she was very happy to see her win the Best Director Academy Award.
Nomadland filmmaker Zhao made Oscars history at the ceremony last month by becoming the first woman of colour to win the Best Director award. She is only the second woman in Oscars history to win Best Director.
Zhao is at the helm of the upcoming Marvel Studios film Eternals, which counts Jolie and Barry Keoghan among its star-studded cast.
"I think she's a special director," Jolie told CinemaBlend.
"She’s a really interesting woman, very thoughtful, very serious about her work.
"I think she’s bringing a new voice through her films, and I think to Marvel. So I’m very excited for people to see it."

The release date for Eternals has been pushed back to October 2021.
