Andrew Garfield says he has not got the call about a Spider-Man return

Former webslinger Andrew Garfield has set the record straight, for now, about suiting up to play Spider-Man once again in the forthcoming Marvel movie, No Way Home.

Rumours have been swirling that the upcoming Spidey movie, will feature not only Tom Holland, but also original trilogy star Tobey Maguire as well as Garfield, who played the hero in two Amazing Spider-Man films in 2012 and 2014.

The talk that No Way Home could see three Spider-Men on the big screen has become a hot topic and is often trending on social media sites and has been discussed by popular US chat show hosts Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon.

It has also been confirmed that Alfred Molina will return as Doctor Octopus, the villain he played in Maguire's Spider-Man 2. Jamie Foxx is also confirmed as Electro, a villain from Garfield’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Garfield has finally broken his silence, and unfortunately for Spider-Man fans, has revealed that he has not got the call.

"I can't speak for anything else, but for myself. They might be doing something, but I ain’t got a call," Garfield told MTV’s Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused podcast.

"I see how often Spider-Man is trending and it’s like people freaking out," said Garfield. "And I’m just like, 'guys, guys, guys' — I wish I could just be able to speak to everyone and say, 'I recommend that you chill.'

"I would’ve gotten a call by now. That’s what I’m saying."
