Slane Castle owner Lord Henry Mountcharles has said he is looking at the possibility of holding two concerts at the iconic venue next year.
"This year is dead for a live show," he said in a statement. "I was holding out hope that something could happen, but it looks nigh on impossible.
"We are looking at a show - and very possibly two - next year. I see it returning in the summer of 2022, and I want to come back with a big show."
"We will come back next year with a big one, and I am certainly looking at the possibility of two separate acts," he continued.
"I'm always very selective and careful about Slane - not everyone gets to play here. There are world-class acts out there and a wealth of Irish talent too, which I am keeping my eye on."

The last act to headline Slane was Metallica in June 2019. U2 headlined two shows at Slane in August and September 2001, with Bon Jovi and Eminem headlining Slane two months apart in 2013.

Lord Mountcharles also said he is thinking about a behind-closed-doors, live-streamed concert later this year to mark the 40th anniversary of the first concert at Slane, which was headlined by Thin Lizzy.
