Ewan McGregor will be joined by a sprawling cast when be reprises his role as Jedi knight Obi-Wan Kenobi in the latest Star Wars spin-off series.
The 51-year-old Scottish actor played Kenobi in three Star Wars prequels from 1999 to 2005, and he will appear alongside Hayden Christensen, who will return as Darth Vader, and Rocketman star Joel Edgerton and Bonnie Piesse, who will be back as Uncle Owen Lars and Aunt Beru Lars from Star Wars: Attack of the Clones.

Kumail Nanjiani, Moses Ingram, Rupert Friend, O'Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, Benny Safdie and Game of Thrones star Indira Varma will also join the cast of the new series, which is expected to begin production in April and is reported to air sometime next year.
Disney+ has also announced the first plot details of the new show.
"The story begins 10 years after the dramatic events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith where Kenobi faced his greatest defeat, the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker turned evil Sith Lord Darth Vader." they said in a press release on Monday.
The series will be executive produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Ewan McGregor, Michelle Rejwan, and Deborah Chow, who will also direct.
Disney+ is planning more Star Wars spin-off series, with The Book of Boba Fett set to stream this December.
In the Star Wars films The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, and Revenge of the Sith, McGregor played a younger version of Alec Guinness's character from 1977's Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope.
