Former Girls Aloud singer Sarah Harding to release a new song with all proceeds from sales going to raise funds for cancer research as she continues her own battle against breast cancer.

39-year-old Harding, who recently revealed that doctors had told her she has only "months to live", will release new song Wear It Like A Crown, which she rediscovered while writing her memoir, Hear Me Out, in aid of the UK's the Christie NHS Foundation.

A representative of Harding told MailOnline, "It's an old song from 10 years ago that Sarah found in the archives when she was researching for her book. She loves the song and her team are making available for the fans."

The song will be released at midnight on Wednesday.

Harding's book reveals how she discovered she had cancer and how she’s managed to come to terms with the illness.

She said she played down her symptoms because she didn't want to go into hospital during the coronavirus pandemic.

She also said doctors told her that last Christmas would probably be her last.

However, she received some positive news last week when medical experts informed her that her brain and lung tumours have shrunk.

Meanwhile, Jedward will shave off their trademark quiffs on this Friday’s Late Late Show to raise fund for the Irish Cancer Society on Daffodil Day.
