True Tides pay tribute to Spice Girls and Phil Lynott in new video

Cork act True Tides have paid tribute to classic pop promos by The Spice Girls and Phil Lynott in the new video for their recent single I Can't Wait - and you can watch it right here.

The brotherly trio of Cian, Conor and Eoin MacSweeney have already made their Late Late Show debut and sold out Cork Opera House, and now they've referenced the videos for Lynott’s Old Town and The Spice Girls' Stop, which were both filmed in Dublin.

I Can’t Wait is described as "a high energy pop tune with euphoric electronic patterns, indelible melodies and a message of hope and better times ahead" and was written while the three brothers were apart during lockdown.

"It really feels like our best track so far."

"Lockdown kind of forced us to approach things in a different way," says lead vocalist Cian. "We were sending each other ideas and then sharing our responses over zooms and calls.

"But despite that challenge, the song just came together really quickly, and the lyrics just seemed to flow immediately for me. It was actually a really exciting process as the song came together. It really feels like our best track so far."

I Can’t Wait is the follow up to their two recent singles, Survive, which hit the top 10 Irish radio charts, peaking at Number 7, and Break The Silence, which went straight into the top 40 on Irish radio.

Recently, Cian co-wrote Light Me Up, a new a song with Danny of The Coronas, which Elton John played on his Apple Music digital radio show Rocket Hour.
