Wolfwalkers from Kilkenny's Cartoon Saloon and Disney/Pixar's Soul lead the shortlist for this year's Annie animation awards in the US with 10 nominations each.
Wolfwalkers, a co-production with Luxembourg's Melusine Productions, has received a Best Direction nomination for its Irish filmmakers Tomm Moore and Ross Stewart, and there are also nods for Best Indie Feature, Writing (Will Collins) and Voice Acting (Eva Whittaker).
Best Music (Bruno Coulais), Production Design (María Pareja, Ross Stewart, Tomm Moore), Storyboarding (Guillaume Lorin), FX for Feature (Kim Kelly, Leena Lecklin, Frédéric Plumey, Almu Redondo, Nicole Storck), Character Animation (Emmanuel Asquier-Brassart) and Character Design (Federico Pirovano) complete Wolfwalkers' nominations haul.

There is also a nomination for Cartoon Saloon in the Best Sponsored category for its collaboration with creative company Mother London on Greenpeace's There's a Monster in My Kitchen.
Another Irish animation company, Dublin's Brown Bag Films, is shortlisted in the Best TV/Media - Preschool category for its work on Xavier Riddle and the Secret Museum: I am Madam President.
The winners of the Annie Awards will be announced in a virtual ceremony on 16 April.
