Who Am I? was recorded primarily in Los Angeles alongside producer Rich Costey (Muse, Foo Fighters, Sigur Rós), before the Coronavirus lockdown forced the making of the album to go virtual, with Heather and Ciara remaining in LA and the rest of the band returning home to record their parts in their bedrooms, sending them back to LA to be added into the record.

Speaking about the new album, Baron-Gracie says, "For me, music and art is for people not to feel so alone and isolated. I want to be that person my fans look up to and find comfort in."

Tell us three things about yourself?

I'm half Scottish, half English.

I was meant to be a twin.

I’m 5’2".

How would you describe your music?

Alt pop.

Who are your musical inspirations?

Courtney Love and Avril Lavigne - both strong women who inspired me to pick up a guitar.

How are you occupying yourself during the coronavirus lockdown?

We were actually locked down in the studio in LA, recording our new album Who Am I? - it was a pretty weird recording situation, with masks and social distancing in place in the studio, but we weren’t going to let a pandemic stop this album!

What’s your favourite song right now?

Morgan Wallen - More Than My Hometown.

Favourite lyric of all time?

That’s a tough one - there’s so many amazing writers out there. A song I’m really enjoying at the moment is Ani DiFranco - Untouchable Face. There’s a lyric in there: "To tell you the truth, I prefer the worst of you".

If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life what would it be?

Courtney Love - Never Gonna Be The Same.

Where can people find your music/more information?

We’re @palewaves on all the usual social media places.

Pale Waves album Who am I? is available now. They play The Academy, Dublin on February 20th, 2022.
