Comedian Matt Richardson has been eliminated from Dancing On Ice after one week on the show.

The 29-year-old former Xtra Factor co-host, who was partnered with professional skater Vicky Ogden, joined the ITV show as a replacement after Rufus Hound pulled out after testing positive for coronavirus.

Richardson failed to impress the judges and found himself at the bottom of the leaderboard with 23.5 points out of a possible 40.

"I am quite relieved. This is the most horrifying and terrifying and fear-inducing thing I have ever done," he said.

"The whole experience has been amazing. Training to skate, being a stand-in was amazing because everyone was doing the TV bit, I didn't have to do any of that. I was very happy.

"But it has been great. Vicky has been phenomenal. I have loved skating with her."

Richardson previously opened up about his Dancing on Ice injuries saying he hurt himself so badly during training that he was sent home with a "concussion and a black eye".
