LA-based band World’s First Cinema have released their new single, Cold Sets In. We asked them the BIG questions . . .
Speaking about the new track, the band say, "The song continues on to lyrically explore how pain and strife can bring you closer to loved ones. But even when that pain causes you to step away, we learn that starting over can be the most important part of the journey."
Cold Sets In is lifted from the pair’s forthcoming debut EP, which is set to land in this Spring.
Tell us three things about yourself?
We like horror movies, D&D, and Ramen.
How would you describe your music?
Theatrical, cinematic, atmospheric, explosive.
Who are your musical inspirations?
We truly have a huge spread of inspirations across multiple genres. Both of us have a lot of individual inspirations, but as a whole we love a lot of rock/alt bands, pop acts, electronic acts, even more some classical roots like soul and blues.
How did you occupy yourself during the coronavirus lockdown?
We used the time to write a heap of music. We do these little writing camps where me and John get an Airbnb somewhere cool for a week or two and we move our studios in and just make music all day and night. Other than that, just watching too many movies and playing too many video games.
What’s your favourite song right now?
Shut the World Out - Kasbo.
Favourite lyric of all time?
"So casually cruel in the name of behind honest" - Taylor Swift
If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life what would it be?
Bat Outta Hell - Meatloaf 'cos It’s like 10 minutes long and changes style a bunch so I’m kinda getting a bargain for one song. LOL.
Where can people find your music/more information?
Instagram is the main place - @worldsfirstcinema or search ‘world’s first cinema’ on any social media platform
