Tonight's top TV tips include The Tommy Tiernan Show, Comedy Connections, The Masked Singer, the Ewan McGregor-narrated Stormborn, and some cracking movies . . .

Pick of the Day

The Tommy Tiernan Show, 9.30pm, RTÉ One

One thing’s for sure: when this run is over, Saturday nights just won’t be the same for telly-watchers.

Tommy Tiernan’s improvised chat show - where neither the host nor the viewers are told the identity of the guests in advance - just gets better and better. Last week’s interview with Mary Coughlan being a case in point.

The Galway singer has battled alcoholism and addiction in the past, and while open about her battles, she told Tommy she is in a good place after becoming "a medicine woman", revealing that she’d trained in shamanism for two years.

Seriously. Where else would you get it?
