Listen: Mary Coughlan is Forward Bound on new song

Following her TV appearance on The Tommy Tiernan show on Saturday night, Mary Coughlan is set to release her new single, Forward Bound.

The song, which is out on February 5th, is taken from her latest album Life Stories, and speaking about the track, she said, "The song is about embarking on a new relationship after another divorce.

"The feeling of exhilaration especially being an older woman. It's a great feel-good song, I think we all need a bit of that these days!"

During her appearance on The Tommy Tiernan Show, Coughlan said that she is now "a medicine woman" - adding that "music is my medicine".

The Galway songstress, who now lives in Co. Wicklow, added that she had undergone shamanic training. "I did more than two years of it," she said. "I was moving from the life . . . into the life that I am now."
