Quiz, 9.30pm, RTÉ One

This fine drama - starring Matthew Macfadyen, Aisling Bea, and Michael Sheen - tells the story of Charles Ingram, a former British army major, who caused a major scandal after being caught cheating his way to winning £1m on TV quiz show Who Wants to be A Millionaire.

Directed by Stephen Frears, there was a huge buzz around the series when it first aired on UK television last spring, and now Irish viewers can finally watch the three-part series on RTÉ One, with the full series available from today on the RTÉ Player.

The series examines the young Texan cyclist's rise to fame, his struggle with testicular cancer and subsequent emergence as a global icon with seven consecutive Tour de France titles.

This ultimately led to his downfall as he was subsequently revealed as being at the centre of one of the biggest doping scandals in sporting history.

Escaping the Holocaust: Syndrome K, 9.00pm, Sky History & NOW TV

This documentary tells the remarkable story of three courageous Roman Catholic doctors who saved the lives of Jews by convincing Nazi officials that their Jewish patients had a highly infectious and deadly disease, Syndrome K.

The feigned disease was used by doctors in Italy’s Fatebenefratelli hospital, who convinced their Jewish patients to fake symptoms in front of patrolling Nazi officers, making them able to declare it far too contagious for the soldiers to enter.

The Great Elephant Tale, 8.00pm, Sky Nature & NOW TV

Through the lives of three vastly different herds of African elephants, this series take you on a journey that reveals how this species has conquered a continent.

First up, it explores the merciless Namibian desert, where a matriarch leads her family hundreds of miles a year in the endless quest for water.
