Nicole Kidman and fellow Oscar-winner Javier Bardem are in negotiations to play iconic showbiz couple Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz in a new film from The West Wing creator Aaron Sorkin.
US entertainment trade website Deadline, which first reported the news, says that Being the Ricardos takes place during a week on the set of Ball and Arnaz's classic TV comedy I Love Lucy.
Behind the laughter, Ball and Arnaz are facing turmoil in their careers and marriage.
Director Sorkin has also written the script for the film, which will be made for Amazon Studios.
Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, there are no details on a production start date.
