Tonight's top TV includes the return of The Tommy Tiernan Show, more musical malarky on The Masked Singer, FA Cup action, and some cracking movies . . .
Pick of the Day
The Tommy Tiernan Show, 9.35pm, RTÉ One
The mould Tommy Tiernan turns with his uniquely improvised chat show in which neither the host nor the audience are told the identity of the guests in advance.
Obviously, the subject matter is unknown. And that is part of the attraction of this hugely entertaining show. You just never know who or what you’re going to get - but you know it’s going to be an engrossing slice of TV.
Don't Miss
Dad's Army, 8.00pm, BBC Two
Here’s a chance to catch the debut episode of the classic BBC comedy about the Home Guard unit of Walmington-on-Sea. If you haven’t etc.
As the need to organise against the threat of German attack or invsion, Captain Mainwaring (Arthur Lowe, below) assumes command of the Local Defence Volunteers, an assumption others are not so eager to make.
The Masked Singer, 7.00pm, Virgin Media One
If you’re looking to completely switch off from the outside world, this is probably a good a place to do just that. It’s certainly one of the daftest TV show concepts.
Disco queen Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Spice Girl Mel B were the first two secret singers revealed in weeks one and two respectively.
Now, another famous face is unmasked and eliminated - but not before Swan, Badger, Robin, Dragon and Sausage have taken to the stage to perform.

Match of the Day Live: The FA Cup, 5.20pm, BBC One
It’s the football world’s oldest competition - though it has seen better days.
Here’s where the big boys join in, though the Beeb has chosen a clash of two top-tier clubs as Arsenal host Newcastle United (Kick-off 5.30pm).
Current holders Arsenal have struggled badly in the English Premier League so far this season, and may see this competition as a welcome distraction.
The sides last met in this tournament at the fourth-round stage in 2008, when an Emmanuel Adebayor double and a Nicky Butt own goal sealed a 3-0 victory for Arsene Wenger's team.

Arthur Penn’s iconic and fact-based gangster drama about the infamous couple who went on a headline-grabbing crime spree across the American midwest during the 1930s is a cinematic treat.
Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway are great - but the film itself is the real star. It’s tremendous fun, and a major game-changer in American cinema.
