Elton John, Chad Smith from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and cellist Yo-Yo Ma are to add their musical contributions to Miley Cyrus' forthcoming Metallica covers album.

Elton John will do the piano lines on her version of Nothing Else Matters, which Metallica released in 1991, on their self-titled fifth album.

In an interview with Capital FM, Cyrus enthused about the presence of Yo-Yo Ma and Chad Smith on the forthcoming studio set. "So many all-stars are in this band," she said. "I'm so excited about this collaboration."

Cyrus conceded that the concept of the song might seem strange to some fans. "I mean, having Elton John and Metallica and me ... I love when ingredients don't quite fit. Or it seems like a concoction that no one would ever put together, and you gotta have someone like Watt (producer Andrew) Watt) that will take that risk."

The singer included Nothing Else Matters at her Glastonbury performance in 2019. No stranger to the cover concept,  in 2020 she also performed versions of  The Cranberries' Zombie, Blondie's Heart of Glass, and Hole's Doll Parts
