Alan Igbon, who starred in Coronation Street, Brookside and Boys from the Blackstuff, has died "peacefully" aged 68.
The actor's neice, Lee-Ann Igbon, confirmed news of his death on Facebook. "Early December 2020 my mum's brother Alan Igbon my uncle passed away peaceful.
"He is well known for being an actor in Boys from the black stuff, Scum, GBH, Coronation st, Brookside and many more. R.i.e.p xxx." (sic)
Igbon - who had a West Indian and Irish background - played the role of Tony Stuart, father of Ryan Thomas' character Jason Grimshaw, in Coronation Street in 2003. Terence Maynard played the same role in 2014 and 2015 seasons.
The actor also played small roles in courtroom drama Crown Court in 1975 and factual show Crimewatch in 1985.
