The 58-year-old country superstar was appearing on wife Trisha Yearwood's Garth & Trisha Live! A Holiday Concert Event on CBS when he choked up while singing Belleau Wood, a song commemorating the short-lived Christmas Eve truce during World War I.

As he began the song, he stopped and said "I'm gonna get this," as he wiped away a tear. He then collected himself and started to play the track again.
Brooks performed a song as a request from fans on social media.
When Yearwood what song was coming next, she told her husband, "Good luck, buddy because this one makes me cry, and I never cry."
