The cast of the new film Pixie, which is set in the west of Ireland and was largely filmed in Belfast, have said they loved getting to explore different parts of the country.
Olivia Cooke (Ready Player One) plays the title role of Pixie, a young woman out to avenge her mother's death, who finds herself on the run with two unlikely lads (Daryl McCormack and Ben Hardy).
Cooke said the experience was "really good craic" and said she really enjoyed the "inherent humour you guys have that is just wonderful to experience."
McCormack (Peaky Blinders), who hails from Nenagh, Co Tipperary, particularly enjoyed spending time in Belfast.
"We shot a lot of the film in Belfast, I’d been a few times but I'd not lived there the way we did for shooting," he told RTÉ Entertainment.
"It’s a great city, it’s the perfect size to walk around, it’s nice to live in another part of Ireland I'd never really spent too much time in.
"Then we went to the west of Ireland, even 20 minutes outside of Belfast it’s the middle of the countryside, so it was great to explore places I hadn’t been before."
Hardy (Bohemian Rhapsody) echoed their sentiments, singling out Sligo as particularly beautiful.
"I’d like to see more of Ireland, explore more," he added.
Both Cooke and Hardy had to adopt an Irish accent for the film and agreed it came with a level of nerves.
"It was such a panic attack, I gave it a good go," Cooke said. "My friend Niall is Irish and he said my accent sounded fine. I’m happy with fine."
Hardy added, "As long as it's not one of the butchering's."
Pixie is in cinemas now.
