All-singing, all-dancing

They are joined by Jo Ellen Pellman, Ariana DeBose, Keegan-Michael Key, Kerry Washington and Tracey Ullman in the feelgood movie, due in selected Irish cinemas on 4 December (subject to Covid-19 restrictions), and on Netflix on Friday, 11 December.

The Prom tells the story of two Broadway stars (Streep and Corden) and two struggling actors (Kidman and Rannells) who think they can revive their careers by travelling to a conservative small town in Indiana to support Emma (newcomer Pellman), a lesbian student who is not allowed to bring her girlfriend Alyssa (DeBose) to the high school prom.

The Prom promises feelgood for December

"But when their self-absorbed celebrity activism unexpectedly backfires, the foursome find their own lives upended as they rally to give Emma a night where she can truly celebrate who she is."
