Cork brotherly trio True Tides are releasing a series of short films which go behind the creative process of their music - and you can watch the first clip here.

The films, directed and shot by Wexford video director WOLFF, explore the guitar/synth pop band's song writing and the production behind each track, along with live performances of five songs, including latest single Break the Silence, debut single Higher, and Survive.

The new films round off a very good year for Cian, Conor and Eoghan MacSweeny, with the success of Survive, support slots for Picture This, The Coronas and The Academic, and their television debut on the Late Late Show.

The trio’s music also featured on E4’s Made in Chelsea and they sold out their hometown Cork City Hall show, performing their songs with the 135-piece Cork Youth Orchestra.

Vocalist Cian and his brothers, drummer Conor and guitarist Eoghan, started playing music when they were growing up in Ballintemple in Cork and they come from good musical stock.

Their mother was a member of local alt-folk band Coppinger Stang with her siblings and cousins and they once supported Thin Lizzy in Cork City Hall.

Speaking to RTÉ Entertainment earlier this year, Cian said, "Initially music started as competition between the three of us.

"Conor literally started on pots and pans and then Eoghan got a guitar so I had to start too but you can’t keep playing on your own so we began to jam together."

Managed by Lar Kaye of Dublin duo All Tvvins, so far True Tides have uploaded five songs online, including the widescreen indie of Higher and the more expansive and poppy Survive.
