With just a week to go before the US election, One Direction star Harry Styles has become the latest celebrity to endorse Joe Biden for president.

The 26-year-old shared a campaign video from the Democratic contender on Twitter, writing, "If I could vote in America, I'd vote with kindness."

Styles’ One Direction bandmate Niall Horan has also tweeted about the upcoming election, which is one of the most crucial in recent US history, but remained neutral on the subject, saying "I wish I could vote in this election".

Neither Horan and Styles are eligible to vote in the forthcoming election, but they have added their voices to a growing chorus of music stars including Justin Timberlake and Taylor Swift who are endorsing Biden.

Mel Brooks, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Jennifer Lopez are also among those supporting the Democrat’s White House bid.

Styles previously addressed President Donald Trump's politics during an appearance on James Corden’s Late Late Show in 2017.

"Of course, the big story of tonight is that Donald Trump shared secret information with the Russians last week," he joked.

"The good news for Trump is that he has been named employee of the month by Russia."
