Dolly Parton has hinted that she may pose for the cover of Playboy magazine to mark her 75th birthday next January - as long as it's done in "good taste".

The iconic singer previously adorned the magazine’s cover in 1978 wearing a black bunny suit and speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live's Scott Mills & Chris Stark Show, she said: "Yeah, I just might do it. If I can do it in good taste and we’ll do it along with a really good interview inside. So, yeah, we’ve talked about it."

Dolly's new album, A Holly Dolly Christmas, is out now

Contrary to her 1980 hit song and movie, 9 to 5, she also told the show that she wakes at 3am every day. "I'm a very early riser," she said. "I've always done that. Even if I go to bed late, I just seem to wake up at 3am.

"I do some of my best work in the morning between 3 a.m. and 7 a.m. I don't sleep my life away."

Dolly was on the show to plug her new album, A Holly Dolly Christmas, which is out now and is her 47th studio release and third Christmas album.

She is also set to play an angel and executive produce the Netflix movie Christmas On The Square, which is based on her song of the same name.

The Good Wife and Big Bang Theory star Christine Baranski and Jenifer Lewis are also in the cast, while Treat Williams (Blue Bloods), Josh Segarra (Orange Is the New Black) and Jeanine Mason (Roswell, New Mexico) will also appear.

In the movie, Baranski plays Regina, a rich but cold-hearted woman who plans to return to her small hometown after her father's death and evict his tenants so she can sell the land to a property developer.
