Henry Cavill has revealed he would ''love'' to be the next James Bond and admits he'd "absolutely jump at the opportunity" to audition for the iconic role again.
The 37-year-old Superman star has revealed he's eager to replace Daniel Craig as the iconic character, admitting it would be a ''very, very exciting" part to play.
Speaking to GQ magazine, Cavill, who previously auditioned for the role of 007 at age 22, said he wouldn't turn producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson down if they approached him to feature as the title character in one of their spy thrillers.
''At this stage, it's all up in the air. We'll see what happens. But yes, I would love to play Bond, it would be very, very exciting.
''If Barbara [Broccoli] and [producer Michael G. Wilson] were interested in that, I would absolutely jump at the opportunity.''
Cavill, who can currently be seen in Netflix's mystery film Enola Holmes, previously opened up about why he missed out on the chance to play Bond in the past.
During a screen test for the role, he re-enacted a scene from a Sean Connery-era Bond film in which he had to walk out of a bathroom wearing only a towel.
"I probably could have prepared better. I remember the director, Martin Campbell, saying, 'Looking a little chubby there, Henry'.
"I didn't know how to train or diet. And I'm glad Martin said something, because I respond well to truth. It helps me get better," Cavill told Men's Health magazine of the audition.
The second trailer for Daniel Craig's 007 swansong No Time to Die was released earlier this month, ahead of the Bond adventure reaching cinemas in November.
