The Spice Girls are hoping to recreate the video for their smash hit debut single Wannabe to mark their 25th anniversary.

Mel C, Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell and Mel B were planning a huge tour to mark 25 years together in 2021 but due to the coronavirus plans for the live gigs have been shelved.

The original 'Girl Power' band are looking at a number of ways to celebrate 25 years since they launched onto the pop scene, although it is highly unlikely that Victoria Beckham will take part.

Speaking to The Sun newspaper a source said: ''They're all in touch weekly and are trying to come up with new ideas on how they can do something special to mark the big day.

''Mel C suggested doing something around Wannabe including the idea of possibly re-working the video for social media.

''There are so many options and nothing is off-limits. They want to give the fans something special.''

The Spice Girls reunited as a four-piece at Dublin's Croke Park in May 2019 with an audience of 80,000.
