Filming has resumed on the sixth season of BBC One's police thriller series Line of Duty - but fans will have to wait until next year for new episodes.
Filming under Covid-19 safety protocols resumed on Monday with stars Adrian Dunbar (Supt. Ted Hastings), Vicky McClure (DI Kate Fleming) and Martin Compston (DS Steve Arnott) joined by Kelly Macdonald as DCI Joanne Davidson for season six. It is almost six months since filming was halted due to the Covid-19 emergency.
"Even with the imposition of Covid restrictions, I can't hide my excitement at getting the team back together," said Dunbar. "So many people wondering… what happens next?"

McClure teased that she had been "sitting on these incredible scripts for some time now".
"We know Line of Duty fans are desperate for series six and we hope we can get it on air as soon as possible," said creator and showrunner Jed Mercurio. "Thanks so much for your patience in these difficult times."
