Tell us three things about yourself?
I love to read, to write and to discover new things.
How would you describe your music?
My music is a mixture of all of my musical tastes. I love the period between 1976 and 1979 - Punk happened, Disco and Studio 54 were in full swing and the reggae influence was coming in with Serge Gainsbourg making his reggae album in ’78. Bowie had found his perfect Krautpop - Blondie were melding New Wave with Disco rhythms… It was an inspiring and very formative musical period for me as a child. I suppose all of this filtered through me to arrive at where I am now.
Who are your musical inspirations?
Dylan, the Doors, Bach, Beethoven, Monty Python and The Rutles.
How did you occupy yourself during the coronavirus lockdown?
I was surprisingly busy making art. I made the Video for looking Looking Glass remotely with Etienne Gilfillan and then a new video with my friend David LaChapelle. Watch this space...
What’s your favourite song right now?
The Partisan by Leonard Cohen.
Favourite lyric of all time?
"There must be some kind of way outta here, Said the joker to the thief, There's too much confusion, I can't get no relief" - All along the Watchtower by Bob Dylan.
If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life what would it be?
Rather than a song, I would have to choose Beethoven’s 7th Symphony.
Where can people find your music/more information?
My album Revelations is available now on all formats and you can find the videos I made with David LaChapelle on YouTube. The LP vinyl is available through Rough Trade.
