Former couple Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt will have an online screen reunion this week as part of the A-list cast for a 'virtual table read' of the script for 1980s teen classic Fast Times at Ridgemont High.

The event will be streamed online at 1:00am Irish time on August 22 to raise funds for the non-profit humanitarian organisation CORE, which was co-founded by Fast Times at Ridgemont High star Sean Penn; and REFORM Alliance, which campaigns for change to the American legal system. Both CORE and REFORM Alliance are involved in the fight against Covid-19 in the US .

Also taking part in the charity event alongside Aniston, Penn and Pitt are: organiser Dane Cook, Morgan Freeman, Henry Golding, Jimmy Kimmel, Shia LaBeouf, Matthew McConaughey and Julia Roberts.

"I'm always game for a giggle," said Penn. "So, to gather remotely for a night of laughs with so many talented folks while providing CORE with much-needed resources to continue our vital work, then consider us fully onboard to play!"

Aniston and Pitt, who married in 2000 and split in 2005, memorably starred together in a 2001 episode of Friends

Released in 1982, Fast Times at Ridgemont High was directed by Clueless director Amy Heckerling and written for the screen by Jerry Maguire writer-director Cameron Crowe from his book of the same name.

The bawdy comedy gave Penn one of his most iconic roles as stoner Jeff Spicoli and also helped launch the careers of Nicolas Cage, Phoebe Cates, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Eric Stoltz, Judge Reinhold and Forest Whitaker.
